“I Get What I Need.”

From seacoastonline.com:

“My frustration is with the way things are going with the health care plan,” she said. “It’s a thousand pages and no one has read it. I’m afraid for my grandchildren and myself.”  Keenan said she has a terminal illness and through her private insurance, “I get what I need.” [seacoastonline.com 8/11/2009]

I’m very sorry that Ms. Keenan is terminally ill and I wish nothing but the best for her going forward – I hope she continues to get what she needs through her private insurance and I will keep her in my thoughts – no one should be without insurance and Ms. Keenan is lucky to have it or who knows what situation she might be in today – that’s why every American deserves to be insured. The President’s plan will help many, who simply cannot afford the higher costs of some plans or are out of work and cannot get access to an insurance plan at all. The President’s plan will create another alternative for Americans. Stay with the insurance you got, or shop around, maybe the government’s plan is what you want – I don’t know, but I would like the choice, as would many Americans. I understand that Ms. Keenan “gets what she needs,” but think about your fellow Americans who cannot get what they need. We need to be unselfish and think of the greater good for this nation and for human kind. As for the 1,000 pages of the Health Insurance Bill that have not been read – see the PATRIOT Act. No one read that either, but I didn’t see the Conservative base complaining back in 2001. America needs to come together and support our fellow citizens and not be afraid of change. Don’t listen to the Rush Limbaugh’s or Sean Hannity’s – their paid well to state their opinions, which are really those of the Insurance companies and Washington Lobbyists – do your own research and then make a decision. You’ll get my respect.

The U.S. Healthcare debate…

I don’t think it’s a bad idea to spread health care around and let everyone be able to participate. Americans can still go with the health care you currently have, no big deal. It’s like sending a package by UPS, Fed Ex, or DHL. You don’t have to use the US Postal Service and won’t have to use the US Health Care option, but it will be available if you want it.

My Vote for President

To my fellow friends, neighbors, and residents
of these United States of America:

I want to share something that I consider extremely important. I’ve been thinking a lot about the upcoming Presidential election and how important it has obviously become.

With the state of the economy headed south, an ongoing conflict in Afghanistan and Iraq, and the unfortunate state of public education in this great country – I’ve decided to support Barack Obama as President.

I honestly believe Barack Obama is the better choice and hope you can see exactly what I have seen. I know we cannot always agree on every issue and that as a society, we have become a more bipolar nation. But we’re all Americans and we’re all on the same team, living in the same great country. That’s what makes America the absolute greatest country on Earth. Like JFK, Abraham Lincoln, but mostly like Franklin D. Roosevelt, a man who lead us through the Great Depression, Barack Obama can help us get through this current economic challenge with his optimism and astuteness. Obama also has great bi-partisan support from folks like Colin Powell and Warren Buffet. Having a great U.S. Senator like Joe Biden as his sidekick and the support of the Clintons only makes me feel more secure in my decision. Barack Obama has a strong belief in a government that is for the people and by the people. It’s called Democracy and it’s worth fighting for.

Perhaps you think Sen. Obama is an overeducated constitutional law professor with little experience in government. Have you read his books? Do you know his story? Do you know his voting record and the bills he has presented? “Barack the Politician” has worked across the aisle numerous times with great U.S Senators such as Sen. Chuck Hagel (R-NE), Sen. Dick Lugar (R-IN), Sen. Conrad Burns (R-OK), and Congressman Spencer Bacchus (R-AL) among many more.

My point? Listen to your heart when you go into that voting booth. We’re choosing the next President of the United States in the biggest election this country has ever seen. It’s about the future of America. Never mind the political bias coverage on FOX, CNN, or NBC. Just look at the issues and do your own research. The world needs us to lead.

Only Barack Obama has a solid plan and the temperament to be the next U.S. President.

Thank you.
